2022: Living in the Overflow – with Pastor Sue Thurston

2022: This is the ‘year’ that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. This is our time to move forward with courage and confidence into the new. Let us forget what is behind for surely He is doing a new thing.
‘He anoints my head with oil, and my cup overflows.’
Psalm 23:5
The darkness of trials and uncertainty will move us into a place of intimacy, it is there we will conceive. We will continue to see an increase of uncertainty in the world, yet it will birth great expectancy in His Bride! Holy Spirit impressed upon me while writing this focus that it will be our consecration, coming into His chambers at the beginning of this year and giving Him our first fruits is how we would conceive.
Like Mary, the situation was impossible for her to be with child, but the key was – “Holy Spirit, the power of the highest One, will overshadow you. What is impossible with man becomes possible with God! Holy Spirit we invite now the overshadowing of Your Divine presence as we join Mary with her answer into our spiritual wombs, “Let it be according to Your Word.” Luke 1:35-38
It is always in the midst of the darkest that the Light shines the greatest. Arise and Shine for your Light has come and the Glory of the Lord has risen upon you. Just like in the natural after conception there is a 9-month carrying, I believe also, there will be a carrying in the spirit which will bring us into September of 2022. There will be many birth announcements. We also declare there will be no abortions, miscarrying or premature birthing. Full term and healthy delivery. “Shall I bring to the time of birth and not cause delivery?” says the Lord. Isaiah 66:8-9
I would also hear in my Spirit, “This is the time for His Remnant to arise, arise out of obscurity for we have come to His Kingdom for such a time as this! Esther 4:14
It is with great expectancy of His glory being seen that we enter 2022; seeking Him diligently and consecrating 21 days of the first of January with prayers and fasting.
Readings: Psalm 23, 118:24, Isaiah 43:18-19, 60:1-2, Luke 1:35-38.
Proclamation: Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am theLord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go. Isaiah 48:17
Day 1
The Costly Anointing
I will take up the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord. Psalm 116:3
As olives are crushed to produce oil and grapes are pressed to produce wine, so we find the anointing and joy also comes from a crushing and pressing. David knew the table was where the anointing would be that caused his cup to overflow. Jesus prayed, “if it is possible let this cup pass form me!” Will it be the ‘overflowing cup’ or the ‘cup of suffering’? We must come to the table.
Readings: Psalm 23:5, 75:8, Matthew 26:39, 1 Corinthians 10:21
Proclamation: In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 1 Corinthians 11:25
Day 2
Humility
For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 14:11
We humble ourselves through prayer and fasting knowing that he who humbles himself will be exalted. Luke 14:11. My humility and dependency on Him brings His supremacy into my life. Healing of our loved ones and land all begin with the posture of humility. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
Readings: Psalm 147:6, Proverbs 16:19, Isaiah 57:15, James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5-6
Proclamation: Be clothed with humility. 1 Peter 5:5
Day 3
Take Up Your Cross and Follow Him
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20
The cross speaks of a crucified life; a life that is set apart and hidden in Him. Paul teaches us to live a crucified life. By walking in the Spirit so we won’t fulfil the lusts of the flesh. To fully live, move and have our very being in Him calls for death to self. A life fully hidden in Him so, like Jesus, we can say “ I won’t speak with you much longer, for the ruler of this dark world is coming. But he has no power over me, for he has nothing to use against me. John 14:30 TPT.
We don’t make our cross, we let the cross make us!
Readings: Matthew 10:38, 27:32, Gal. 5:24, 6:14, 1 John 2:16, Hebrews 12:1-6
Proclamation: Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
Day 4
Pruning
And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down. Luke 13:9
It is a time to cut back or to cut down. Just as in the natural vines and trees are pruned back to produce health and promote growth, so we are in a season of pruning to end the baroness of our lives. It’s time to produce fruit and much fruit!
Pruning – (actual definition) The removal or reduction of that which is not requisite to growth or production. Which also triggers new growth and improvement. Jesus said, “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. John15:2.
2022 is a year to see if fruit will come, either by pruning or cutting down.
Readings: John 15:1-8, Luke 13:6-9
As Holy Spirit enlightened me to this passage, I felt so strong in my spirit that He is really speaking this to some of you – “give it a year of prayers and declaration of faith”, if by January 2023 you don’t see fruit then cut it off fully to the ground – It’s over!
Day 5
Abiding
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
Entering into the secret place with Father to abide, not a visitation but a habitation, you will experience all the benefits in Psalm 91. Also, an abiding will produce a life of answered prayers. When Holy Spirit has taken up residency in us His shadow overshadows you. The overflow of that life brings a shadow of His healing wherever you go.
Readings: Psalm 91, Matthew 6:6, John 16:6-8
Proclamation: so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Acts 5:15
Day 6
Indwelling
Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore. Psalm 86:11-12
It is time to earnestly seek the Lord for an undivided heart, the fear of the Lord and a heart of worship. A humbling of oneself, a seeking and a turning from wicked and selfish ways so he can hear us and heal our land.
Readings: 2 Chronicles 7:14, Revelation 3:20, John chapters 14-16.
Proclamation: All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that He shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. John 16:15
Day 7
Renewal
And now for a little while grace has been shown from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a measure of revival in our bondage. For we were slaves. Yet our God did not forsake us in our bondage; but He extended mercy to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to revive us, to repair the house of our God, to rebuild its ruins, and to give us a wall in Judah and Jerusalem. Ezra 9:8-9
These will be the days of enlightenment so we can be renewed and revived. Evan Roberts wrote a song in 1904 – “It’s coming, it’s coming. The power of the Holy Ghost. I receive it, I receive it. The power of the Holy Ghost.
Readings: Acts 1 & 2, Ezra 9:8-9
Proclamation: But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
Day 8
Manifested Presence
Oh that you would rend the heavens! That you would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence. Isaiah 64:1
Isaiah prayed for God to come down to earth – shaking manifestations. We are asking for manifestations of His Presence. As Paul said, For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. Romans 8:19
As God’s remnant is coming forth we will see the manifestations of His Power. The Greek word for manifest is emphanizo, which is a combination of ‘en’ and ‘phaino’. It means to cause to shine, thus to appear, come to view, reveal, exhibit, to declare and make known.
Readings: Isaiah 64:1-5, Romans 8:18-28
Proclamation: He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and [a]manifest Myself to him.”. John 14:21
Day 9
Arise and Shine
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. Isaiah 60:1-2
Truly darkness is covering the earth and gross darkness the people. Yet it is time for us to Arise and Shine – not to run and hide. The glory of the latter will be even greater than the former. He has assured us that His Glory will cover the earth as the water cover the seas. So we must cancel all plans to be fearful, doubtful and unbelieving. Allow His Glory to penetrate through any darkness that tries to invade your emotionally, physically or spiritually.
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14
Readings: Isaiah 60:1-2, 2 Chronicles 5:14, Psalm 3:3, Isaiah 4:5, Haggai 2:9, 2 Corinthians 4:7
Proclamation: And He will destroy on this mountain. The surface of the covering cast over all people, And the veil that is spread over all nations. Isaiah 25:7
Day 10
A Stayed Mind
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength. Isaiah 26:3-4
A stayed mind results in perfect peace. Jesus said “let not your heart be troubled – my peace I give you; take no thought of tomorrow”, meaning no fears or anxiety over the future. He is already there and he has great plans to prosper you, to give you a future and an expected end. Seek Him first in your thoughts and actions and everything you need will be given to you. To stay your mind is to meditate day and night on His words.
Readings: John 14:25-31, Matthew 6:25-33, Joshua 1, Psalm 1:1-3
Proclamation: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8
Day 11
Knowing the Joyful Sound
Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long, And in Your righteousness they are exalted. Psalm 89:15-16
Our praise is a weapon that creates an environment that satan cannot tolerate because God inhabits the praises of His people. The joyful sound of praise, those who worship in spirit and in truth, brings the light of His Glory. There is a sound of God Himself rejoicing over us, quieting us with his love. David said, “He surrounds me with songs of deliverance.”
There is a song in your spirit, when you release it, that will take you from a sinking place and put your feet on a Rock. Many will see and put their trust in the
Lord.
Readings: Psalm 89:15-16, 32:7, 34:1-3, 35:9, 40:1-3, Zephaniah 3:17
Proclamation: But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. John 4:23
Day 12
Walking in the Spirit
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25
To live and walk in the Spirit requires a life yielded fully to the governance of Holy Spirit. If we live by the Spirit then by the Spirit also let us be guided so we won’t fulfill what our flesh is lusting to do. His peace will always be the “umpire” so to speak. Hearing the voice behind you saying, “this is the way, walk in it.”
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Colossians 3:15. The word “rule” in this passage means to direct, or to govern and prevail . If we start to go a wrong way, emotionally or physically in our thoughts or actions, a voice of
TRUTH (correction) will speak to us. We must allow that voice to govern and prevail over our flesh.
Readings: Galatians 5, Colossians 3, Isaiah 9:6-7
Proclamation: Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21
Day 13
Place of Immunity
The fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not
be visited with evil. Proverbs 19:23
There is a place of immunity where we are untouchable by the enemy. Again, it requires being at His table. Receiving His anointing. The Blood of Jesus over your life. Knowing the blood of goats and lambs stopped the death angel, how much greater the Blood of Jesus when applied in faith to our lives. Satan can not and will not ever cross the blood line.
Readings: Psalm 89:20-24, 23:5, Isaiah 32:17-18, 60:18
Proclamation: Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, and the strength of salvation; The fear of the Lord is His treasure. Isaiah 33:6
Day 14
The Good Hand of God Upon Us
Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; Speak the word, but it will not stand, For God is with us.” Isaiah 8:10
Though weapons form they will not prosper. The hand of our God is upon us, and He will deliver us from the hand off the enemy and from ambushes along the road. In reading Ezra 8:31, there is a powerful declaration. It reads, “the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way. In the following chapters he sought God through prayers and fasting for guidance, protection and assistance.
I would hear in my spirit, “the hand of God is going to deliver us from the enemy and from any/all of the ambushes of 2022” – the road into our future. We will go out into this new year with joy and be led forth with peace. He is going to enlarge our paths so that our feet will not slip. He will guide our feet in the way of peace.
Readings: Psalm 62:1-2, 18:36, Luke 1:79, Isaiah 54:16-17, 55:12-13
Proclamation: “The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.” Ezra 8:22
Day 15
Standing in the Gap
So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Ezekiel 22:30
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
Now, my eyes will be open, my ear will always be attentive to prayers made from this place. Scriptures encourage us that whenever you find yourself captive to pray for the peace of that place. I see that as personal or family captivity. As you identify with the pain, grief and the burden of that “city” so to speak – make it into effective prayer with fervency to avail much.
Readings: Ezekiel 22:30, 2 Chronicles 7:14-15, Jeremiah 29:7, Isaiah 52:10, Zechariah 8:20-21, James 5:16, 1 Timothy 2:1-4
Proclamation: Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted upon My altar; for My house shall be called an house of prayer for all nations. Isaiah 56:7
Day 16
The Assignment of Your Call
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then I said, “Here am I! send me.” Isaiah 6:8
And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Matthew 10:7-8
I hear in my spirit, “It is time to be all in, to move forward with courage and confidence and always allowing Me to lead. You will mature in your ability to know My voice, but you will never outgrow the need to be led by My voice.”
Readings: Isaiah 6, Mark 16:20, Matthew 28:16-20
This was taken from one of our “China girls”. Her name is Smile and she was from a small village. This was written inside her bible…
Prayer: Father Abba, I am your living martyr. I live to be forgotten so you will be remembered. I will live to die so you will be glorified. I live to be nothing so you are everything. May I live a life of unreserved worship. May my heartbeat for your glory. May I hold nothing back for myself. For all I have is yours, all I am is yours. I am yours truly.
Day 17
The Effective Door
After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” Revelation 4:1
I’ve seen 2022 as if it was a door in the heavens opening before us. I know there is an ascension in our spirits to take us through this door. The Greek word for door is ‘thyra’ and is defined as a portal or entrance that allows an opening or closure. It is translated as door or gate. This door is divine access to come up higher in God for a fresh revelation of His Glory that transforms us and causes us to reflect His light.
Always when there is an effective door there is much adversity…but God. I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Revelation 3:8.
We need an increase in strength so we don’t faint in the midst of the adversity that open doors bring. Renewed strength comes as we wait on Him.
Readings: Revelation 4:1, 1 Corinthians 16:9, Revelation 3:8, Proverbs 24:10, Isaiah 22:22
Proclamation: Isaiah 22:22 for 2022. And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
Day 18
Come to the Table
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Psalm 23:5
To live in the overflow requires dwelling at His table. This is not a drive through fast food meal, but an indoor dining marinated kind of meal. It requires being still in a fast paced society. A Psalm 23 lifestyle of allowing Him to shepherd our souls will take us victoriously into 2023 and beyond. To eat at the King’s table continually is what will bring wholeness to spirit, soul and body.
It is at the table He teaches us how to rule in the midst of our enemies. “The Lord is my shepherd, He goes before me, no weapon can harm me…I won’t fear.” Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6
Readings: Psalm 23 – The blessing and promises of asking Him to be your shepherd. Psalm 25, 37:19, 110:12
Proclamation: They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house. Psalm 36:8
Day 19
No “10 spies” Mentality
Then they told him and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large. Numbers 13:27-28
Let us go up at once (into the new year) and take possession of the land (2022). FOR WE ARE WELL ABLE TO OVERCOME! Able – to be able, to have power, having the capacity. Yah-kole (Hebrew) – means to prevail or succeed. Can, could, to be able.
Yes there will be giants in the land of 2022, but greater is He that is in you than what is in 2022! We can’t have a 10 spies mentality like we read of in Numbers 13:33, “we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, so we were in their sight.” What they feared and believed held them captive. Their mentality was false, for we read the response of their enemy in 1 Joshua 2:9-11 “And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath”. The enemy they feared – feared them!
Don’t fear even in the valley of death.
Readings: Numbers 13, Joshua 2, Psalm 23:14
Proclamation: And they said to Joshua, “Truly the Lord has delivered all the land into our hands, for indeed all the inhabitants of the country are fainthearted because of us.” Joshua 2:24
Day 20
In the Presence of Enemies
They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,”
says the Lord, “to deliver you.” Jeremiah 1:19
I AM that I AM is with you to deliver you! Whatever fights against you this year will not prevail! This year will require a Joshua perspective and reply. “Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not.” Numbers 14:9
Again, no fear only faith! Remember: faith does not deny the presence/reality of enemies or difficulty; it sees and decrees the power of God in the midst of it! He prepares the table in the midst of our enemies. Never forget Jesus’ words to Peter in Matthew 16:18 – “the gates of hell will not prevail against the church.”
Readings: Jeremiah 1, Joshua 1, Numbers 1, Psalm 37:37, Isaiah 66:14
Proclamation: As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Joshua 14:11
Day 21
The Year of the Remnant
Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, the remnant will be saved. For [a]He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.” And as Isaiah said before: “Unless the Lord of [b]Sabaoth had left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and we would have been made like Gomorrah.” Romans 9:27-29
God always had a remnant. He preserves and reserves! For such a time as this; from Elijah in the cave, to the 7,000 prophets God had reserved to Esther in the palace. You will see the remnant arise and shine with His glory upon them. What has been hidden in obscurity is coming out. From the Jael’s with their tent peg to destroy the enemy to the fearful disciples, the 120 in the upper room endued with power from on high, to reap the harvest with signs, wonders and miracles following us! Their lives being the “pen” to write Acts 29. Yes, it is yet to be written. It is time we enter a new chapter in God’s Kingdom.
Welcome to 2022! Time to live in the overflow.
Readings: Isaiah 1:9, Judges 4 & 5, 1 Kings 19:11-18
Proclamation: “Thus let all Your enemies perish, O Lord! But let those who love Him be like the sun when it comes out in full strength.” Judges 5:31 I admit that I haven’t (reached) yet acquired the absolute fullness that I am pursuing, but I run with passion into His abundance, so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover. I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however, I do have one compelling focus. I forget all the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gainingthe victorious prize through the anointing of Jesus. So let all who are fully mature have this same passion, and if anyone is not yet gripped by these desires, God will reveal it to them. Let us all advance together to reach this victory-prize following one path with one passion!
